What AeroCast on your PC does

AeroCast receives and sends screen pictures only on your local network. The pictures and sound from your screen are never sent to us.

If you use a paid plan and sign in, the app contacts our licence server. It sends: a one-way hash of your PC's identity (not the PC's name or serial number), your PC's name as Windows shows it, the AeroCast version, and your licence token. It does not send the names or addresses of other devices on your network.

Crash reports (only if you agree). The first time the app starts it asks whether to send crash reports. If you say no, nothing is ever sent, and you can change your mind in Settings, Diagnostics. If you say yes, then when AeroCast crashes it sends: the error type and message, the stack trace, the AeroCast and Windows versions, and a random install identifier that is not linked to your account. Before anything leaves your PC, your Windows user name and folder names, email addresses, IP addresses and licence keys are removed. We keep single reports for 90 days (the period can be changed by us, never below 7 days) and keep only counts and a sample trace of each kind of crash afterwards.

Feedback you send. If you press "Send feedback" in the app or use the feedback page on the website, you need to be signed in, and we receive what you write (title and message), the type you chose, the email address of your account and, from the app, the AeroCast and Windows versions and the last lines of the app's log, with the same personal details removed. We show you the status of your report and our reply on your account page. We keep feedback while it is useful for improving AeroCast and delete it on request.

What the website collects

  • Account: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, Microsoft or Apple, the name that provider shares. Sign-in is provided by Google Firebase Authentication.
  • Purchases: the plan you bought, when, and the Stripe customer and payment references. Card details are entered on Stripe's pages and never reach our servers.
  • PCs: for each PC on your licence, its hashed identity, name, AeroCast version and when it last renewed, so we can enforce the two-PC limit and let you remove a PC.
  • Server logs: IP addresses and request details, kept for a short time to keep the service secure and working.
  • Newsletter (only if you ask): if you sign up for AeroCast news, we keep your email address, when and where you signed up (the website form, your account page, the app or the installer) and the sentence you agreed to, as proof. A sign-up on the website only counts once you use the link in the confirmation email. We send about one email a month, every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also turn it off on your account page or in the app's Settings. When you unsubscribe we keep the address marked as unsubscribed so that we do not email you again; ask us to erase it completely and we will.
  • Statistics: if we use website analytics, it is a privacy-friendly service that does not use cookies.

The only cookie we set is the sign-in session cookie.

Why we use it

To sell and deliver your plan, to let you manage it, to prevent misuse, to give support, and to meet tax and legal duties. We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising.

Who handles it for us

Stripe (payments and tax), Google Cloud and Firebase (hosting, database, sign-in), Cloudflare (downloads), and our email provider (licence and receipt emails). They process data only to provide those services.

How long we keep it

Account and licence records are kept while your account exists and as long as the law requires for tax and accounting records. You can ask us to delete your account at support@getaerocast.com; records we must keep by law are kept and then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, and to object to our use of it. Write to support@getaerocast.com. If you are in the EU, UK or Indonesia you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Children

AeroCast is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
